On March 12, 2007, ABeam Consulting Limited (based in Chiyoda-ward, Tokyo and headed by Mr. Kazumasa Nishioka, CEO. Hereinafter described as ABeam Consulting) acquired all of the stocks of Knight & Javelin Corporation (based in Seoul, Korea and headed by Mr. Kyeon-Sik Park, representative. Hereinafter described as Knight & Javelin) and integrated it into ABeam Consulting Korea Limited, its Korean subsidiary. ABeam Consulting will further strengthen the provision of consultancy services in Korea by leveraging on Knight & Javelin's customer base, human resources, sales capabilities, expertise and experience in the fields of ERP and SCM.
After founding ABeam Consulting Korea, its first business base in Korea, in June 2005, ABeam Consulting has provided its clients, who are mostly involved in the Korean information and communication industries, with strategic consultancy services, i.e., marketing strategy development and performance management. As the Korean market has constantly been strengthening its presence in the global economy, ABeam Consulting decided to acquire the firm as it believed that it would absolutely need to strengthen its service offerings in Korea to actively meet the consulting needs of Japanese and multinational enterprises that intend to expand business there. The new acquisition was also needed to assist ABeam Consulting's existing Korean corporate clients in making further inroads into international markets.
Knight & Javelin, an independent consultancy firm that ABeam Consulting acquired, was founded in 2004 mainly by former Deloitte Consulting members. It has established a prominent track record in the provision of business consultation services for the introduction of ERP solutions including SAP for the process industry (the petrochemical industry). It also has a wealth of experience of system introduction in the fields of SCM and others. The current 19 consultants will continue working as members of ABeam Consulting Korea. The new ABeam Consulting Korea will continue providing its clients with services and focus on the provision of consultation services to assist Korean companies in expanding their businesses in global markets and support Japanese and multinational companies in introducing ERP and SCM packages in Korea. In this way, it aims to generate revenues of 4.3 billion JPY and increase the number of consultants to 200 in three years.
To establish itself as an Asia-based global consultancy firm, ABeam Consulting intends to grow into an organization with a total of 10,000 consultants, including those of its group companies and its alliance partners. Simultaneously, it aims to expand and deepen its global network connecting an increasing number of business bases to even better meet client needs.
